Local Enterprise Office launch in Wexford County Council

Local Enterprise Office launched in Wexford County Council

The Local Enterprise Office in County Wexford was launched by Minister Richard Bruton T.D., Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation on Wednesday, 14th May at 9.00 am in Block A, Wexford County Council, Carricklawn, Wexford

The Local Enterprise Office is the new name for County Enterprise Board and continues the great work done by the CEB’s over the last 20 years helping start-ups and small businesses in the county to grow and develop.

The LEO will deliver an expanded range of local enterprise supports to start-ups and small business across the county – with more staff, more funding and more services.

The launch of the LEO means that people thinking of starting or expanding a business in every part of the county will be able to assess the full range of State supports provided by different bodies including Local Authorities, Enterprise Ireland, Department of Social Protection, the Credit Review Office, Microfinance Ireland and more in one easily accessible location with the County Hall. The new location for the Local Enterprise Office is Block A in The County Hall, Carricklawn.

The existing staff in the CEB have transferred to the Local Enterprise Office and have been joined by a new member from the County Council. Commenting on the launch, County Manager, Tom Enright stated “the launch of the new Local Enterprise Office in County Wexford is an exciting development in support for the start-up and small business community in the County. The new office is staffed by an excellent team of professionals who will deliver a range of practical supports including business advice and information, business training and mentoring and much needed grant aid to new and established small business in the county”.

Tom Banville, the Head of the Local Enterprise Office further added “today’s launch puts the Local Enterprise Office at the centre of enterprise and economic development in Local Government and I look forward to working with the County Manager, Tom Enright and the Director of Economic Development & Planning in the County Council, Tony Larkin to bringing a renewed emphasis and energy to the start-up and small business ecosystem in the county. With increased resources at our disposal I foresee positive things ahead for the county with more start-ups, more business expansions and more jobs on the way”.
